House Project at Friday May 10th – Groundworks Continue
The builder has been trying to deal with the varying levels of the garden versus the house. They have excavated out to where the edge of the patio and paths would be, and the soil there is at a much higher elevation. A beaten slope looks pretty much impractical, so a low retaining wall is being used. It’s block today, but when I asked they said it would be brick faced – to check with Nick. Only the groundworks team were at the site today.
Next week is probably too get the drains in.

The garden is much more tapering now – it is probably a hugely better application of the acreage for us – we shall use it much more.

Note below – it looks like drain pipes have been delivered.

Project Progress at May 3rd
Think the trenches and foundations are lying under the first photo and it’s been smoothed over to dig a foundation for retaining walls

How the Services Enter the Property (Gas, Electric, Phone)
The entry of the gas main is not quite as good as I expected !!
On the subject of FTTP Broadband, I guess the big duct is the way it gets in – perhaps we can lay a straighter route?

Progress at Friday 24th April
Given that they had last week off for holidays, progress looks good today. External demolition of Utility Room and Porch are complete, and the Groundworks Consultant is well into doing excavations around the back. As you can see, his huge lorry fills the driveway.
Nick says he has placed the fireplace order.
We have seen 90% of final on the new bathroom designs and also have the first set of samples of floor coverings from Amtico.
