You can just see Dave starting to block in the gable end.

At the minute, the two piers forming the garage entrance have a big notch like a letter “L” at the top. Can you see? I think that is where the lintel will sit. This morning very roughly I measured that L at 2200mm (7 feet would be 2134mm) above ground. Then the notch up to plate level was another 440mm.

The target garage door cartridge is 16 feet by 7 feet high. Should be ok!

The aesthetic of the gable above is s big more challenging (to me).

The left hand upright marks the mid point of the gap. So next phase is to fit the second horizontal steel to the left of this picture. On the way, the team have to handle a previously undiscovered existing steel, running at right angles to these…. which is sitting where this new beam has to run.

This recently revealed steel sits on the same bit of wall that the new steel has to sit on.

This pre-existing steel is not in the location you would expect (above the dining room wall in the photo).
